Unleashing Legal Knowledge

The RALS

The Office of Research, Archives and Library Services (RALS) is the office through which the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law (JSW Law) creates, curates, preserves and shares legal and policy knowledge. RALS brings the JSW Law Research Centre, the JSW Law Library and the JSW Law Archive together under one Associate Dean, so that research, the information it relies on and the records it produces are planned and managed as a single system.

Research, the preservation of knowledge and the dissemination of scholarship belong to the founding purpose of the law school. Article 2 of the Royal Charter granted by His Majesty The King established JSW Law to provide legal education, to facilitate research in law and related fields, and to promote cultural enrichment and traditional values. RALS carries out the research and knowledge part of that mandate.
Whether you are a student preparing your first research paper, a faculty member planning a book, a judge looking for a judgment, a visiting scholar, a public servant or a member of the public with a question about Bhutanese law, these pages explain what RALS offers and how to use it.
